Jazz Sundays @ the Sportsmen’s Club 7-9pm

Sunday, December 10th & Sunday 21st: McBride Pera Starkweather 7-9pm

What do George Gershwin, Leon Russell, George Harrison, Dave Frishberg and Joyce McBride have in common?

They are composers being performed by the McBride, Pera, and Starkweather Trio.

Singer/keyboardist/composer/arranger Joyce Todd McBride performs with her trio and other groups around the Bay Area, and is the director of Conspiracy of Venus chorus.

Joyce’s influences include a rather dizzying variety of genres. For the last while her music has become more jazz-influenced.

Bassist Stacy Starkweather has played with many great groups including the Jazz Mandolin Project, The Hieroglyphics, Suspects of Soul, and many others.

Since benefitting from the programs at the California Jazz Conservatory (CJC) since 2010, drummer Jeff Pera has played with a variety of people (often with LJT Trio) at the CJC Cafe, Mr. Tipple’s, B-Side, Rose Pistola, and other Bay Area venues.

Having played mostly jazz he likes the variety of genres that he is exploring with Joyce and Stacy. The trio has performed at Doc’s Lab, Amnesia, and Red Poppy Art House.
